Sugherina is handmade chair that combines cork and steel, and explores the physical properties of cork, together with new techniques, to achieve a functional aesthetic use. The seat itself is created through a process of layering and shaping cork sheets of two colors, light and dark.
This process gives the cork the necessary sti ffness for strength but maintaining flexibility for comfort. This soft, light and warm material contrast with the hard, heavy and cold re-bar steel of the frame,
but yet combine in a harmonious play of forms.
