The Corky Bowl is the first product from the Corkmatters series, for which its technique was first developed.
Laser cutting combined with a handmade non-polutant process transform, a cork sheet into a flexible, curvy and organic shaped bowl. The Corky Bowl is suitable to be used as a bread basket, a fruit bowl, center piece or even just a pocket emptier.
The Corky Bowl is part of a sustainable concern in the production method. All Corkmatters products are hand made with natural materials (with the exception of the electrical components). In this production method cork is crafted in a unique way, completely different from how it is usually done, where the physical properties of cork are explored to an utmost aesthetic use. Combining laser cutting technology with a non-pollutant handmade shaping process. Two dimensional cork sheets are unfolded into three dimensional sculptural objects.
